Backlinks Alert
To get email alerts of new links to your web site (as well as a hit counter within each email), you can copy & paste the following HTML snippet in the body of your document:
Replace the email john.doe@example.com with your own email. (If needed, you can replace "@" with "--at--". You may also insert "spambegone" anywhere within the address, as it will be removed before sending.)
This will show a FindForward button:
(More buttons to choose from...)
Soon you receive an email with a link to confirm getting alerts. Alerts will then be mailed to you whenever someone followed a link to your site (at most twice a month per individual link).

FindForward Backlink Alerts work great together with email notifiers (like the Gmail Notifier), and email filters.
If at any point you want to discontinue, just remove the FindForward button – additionally, every email contains a link to unsubscribe alerts.
What's the catch? There is no catch. To help cover my server costs, I will sometimes replace the FindForward button with a similar looking Amazon button. Both buttons have the same functionality and count hits and backlinks.
Still have questions? Email me (Philipp Lenssen).
Legalese: To use this service you must include the FindForward image anywhere in the page so that it is visible. For technical reasons I do store your email in my database; I will never pass it on, or email you for dubious reasons other than new backlinks. I will only email you when I will change the Terms of Service, or the service gets otherwise updated in important ways, or I am about to terminate the service. I plan to clear the referrer-data on the 1st and 15th of every month. Please consider this project Beta, and note I cannot promise to keep it running forever (even though I intend to). FindForward Alerts are partly inspired by the VisitorVille statistic software, which also alerts you of new referrers in live time.
"I want to congratulate you about your excellent tool 'Backlinks Alert'. Thank you for your great effort and dedication. Keep up the good work!"
